Teknovus ONU chips support a broad range of business and residential Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) applications, with functionality and performance required for ONUs providing any combination of subscriber services including adjustable-QoS Internet connectivity, VoIP, IPTV (HD and standard definition), TDM emulation, and cellular backhaul (2G, 3G, and 4G).

All Teknovus chips are IEEE standards-compliant, offering 1.25Gbps, 2.5Gbps, and 10Gbps downstream speeds, WDM coexistence, and up to 1:255 split ratios, enabling a wide variety of bandwidth allocation and service management options.

  • Auto-sensing Turbo-EPON™ mode operates at 1.25Gbps downstream with legacy systems and 2.5Gbps downstream with Teknovus Turbo-EPON OLTs
  • Ultra-low power
  • Multiple Logical Links per Physical ONU supports guaranteed bi-directional connections for each dedicated link, performing like multiple, separate ONUs in each end-station
  • EPON ONU reference designs slash development time, enabling faster time-to-market
  • Highest integration level and lowest pin-count
  • Integrated packet buffer and processor memory – available only in Teknovus EPON ONU chips
  • Standards-based architecture guarantees low-cost deployment and interoperability with third party systems
  • Feature-rich, regression-tested firmware including IGMP snooping, VLAN modes, and QoS policy enforcement
  • Backwards compatibility with all Teknovus Optical Line Terminal (OLT) chips

Examples of configuration and required application flexibility are listed below. Teknovus ONUs are found in many of these configurations and a variety of carrier deployments.
