TK3713

System-on-Chip (SoC) for EPON Optical Network Units (ONUs)

TK3713

The TK3713 is a complete System-on-Chip (SoC) for Ethernet Passive Optical Networks (EPON). The TK3713 is IEEE standards-compliant, and enables service providers to deploy triple-play services over fiber optic networks.

Designed for both business and residential Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) Optical Network Units (ONUs), the TK3713 provides all the built-in functionality and performance required for ONUs delivering triple-play services. Featuring a unique Multiple Logical Links architecture, the TK3713 provides up to 8 dedicated links for bi-directional services, such as VoIP and IPTV. Delivering guaranteed rates for both per-subscriber and per-service contracts, the TK3713 offers the performance of 8 distinct ONUs in a single chip.

As part of the Teknovus line of gigabit EPON chips – the only chips in the industry that fully support EPON IPTV and triple-play services – the TK3713 revolutionizes Fiber-to-the-Business (FTTB) and Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) solutions. By accessing shared fiber optic networks – minimizing fiber deployment, eliminating outside plant devices, and reducing optical ports at the Central Office – the TK3713 decreases both the capital and operational expenses of FTTB and FTTH systems.

The TK3713’s unmatched feature set offers additional benefits:

  • Ultra-low Power enables total ONU consumption under 2 Watts
  • Complete EPON SoC Design slashes development time, enabling faster time-to-market
  • Highest Integration level and Lowest Pin-count
  • Integrated Packet Buffer and Integrated Processor Memory – available only in Teknovus EPON ONU chips
  • Standards-based Architecture guarantees low-cost deployment and interoperability with third party systems
  • 8 Logical Links support guaranteed bi-directional connections for 8 dedicated links, performing like 8 ONUs in 1
  • Feature-rich Firmware including IGMP snooping, VLAN modes, and QoS policy enforcement

The TK3713 is compatible with all Teknovus Central Office Optical Line Terminal (OLT) chipsets. It is easily managed from the OLT using 802.3ah standard OAM messaging. With its feature-rich architecture and cost-effective functionality, the TK3713 chip is the best solution for ONUs delivering cost-effective triple-play services over FTTB and FTTH access networks.
